Yin Yoga

Heather Tiddens, E-RYT500 has been teaching yoga full time since 1998, and she has maintained a consistent and evolving practice since 1996. Her teaching is grounded in her training and studies integrating Yin and yang (active Hatha) styles of yoga, hands-on healing modalities, mindfulness practices, and indigenous ceremony ways. Since 2004, she has offered trainings and workshops in Yin yoga: a passive, quiet practice of essentially allowing change to happen. In this Yoga Soup Teacher Training workshop, we’ll explore the fundamentals of Yin Yoga. By relaxing our muscles and staying in a few simple poses for several minutes, we settle gentle compression and traction into the core tissues in and around our pelvis, hips and spine. This supports the health and mobility of these joints and their surrounding tissues. We allow tension and resistance to dissolve, freeing the flow of energy through the body and opening new doors to ease and contentment.
