Qi Gong has affected my life in the sweetest, most remarkable ways. Having dabbled in TCM and acupressure for some time, it was a natural progression. I discovered Beatrice’s inspired Healing Qi Gong class almost two years ago now. Not long after, Matt started sharing his wisdom and expertise, skillfully weaving together not only different forms of Qi Gong, but other physical modalities as well. It quickly became a part of my daily life, in fact replacing my daily home yoga practice.
I’ve been a yogini for well over twenty years and taught for over a decade; yoga was my center and my sanctuary, and is still so very precious to me. I think so much has to do with timing, and Qi Gong speaks to me in a different way; it is what I need to hear now. As someone who finds herself rushing far too often, it asks me to truly slow down and drop in. Quiet, still, expanding, contracting, listening, sensing. It’s rich in history and wisdom, pure poetry in motion. It’s subtle, yet deep. It’s created greater ease and flow in my body, released chronic tension patterns and allowed me to self adjust. It’s hugely informed my capacity as a body worker as well. Qi Gong’s depth and reach is far, but the magic is the power held in its simplicity.
Consider exploring Qi Gong at Yoga Soup. We have a few offerings on the schedule at various times with different instructors, making it accessible to everyone. It can be such an informative and nourishing addition to your practice.
