Cybil’s primary and favorite orientation is that of an “artist.” Whatever the modality or credential, identity as an artist seems to feel most spacious; encompassing learned and developed skill and the innate, intrinsic nature of aliveness. Cybil speaks most fluently through creative and body-centered practices and finds deep joy and purpose in supporting others to find their own embodied and most authentic expressions and life.
Cybil holds a BA in Dance from UCSB (’97) along with over 25 years as a dance professional performing and touring both nationally and internationally. In addition Cybil received her initial Comprehensive Yoga Certifications through White Lotus Foundation and Esalen Institute (where she lived in-residence for 18-months). She has also studied with Erich Shiffmann, Sarah Powers, Mark Whitwell, Thomas Fortell, Denise Zaverdas, Heather Tiddens and Shiva Rea. Cybil holds Pilates certifications though Body Arts and Science International (BASI) and The Pilates Center, Boulder as well as an MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Cybil founded and directed NECTAR, a multi-disciplinary art forum at home at Yoga Soup since 2009. NECTAR has received multiple grants and awards for it’s community-centered vision. Last but not least, Cybil is the proud mother of two dynamic humans whom she ackowledges as her greatest teachers. Cybil is so stoked to be back at home in SB after 2 years in the San Francisco, Bay Area.
