Heartwork: Living Life Fully with Mindfulness and Compassion

Wednesdays / 7-8:30 pm (Starts February 19)

A 20 minute Dharma (or inspirational and instructive) talk will be followed by 25 minutes of mindfulness practice and a 15 minute compassion meditation. A brief discussion will follow. Beginners and experienced students are welcome.

At times the structure will vary with visiting guest speakers or interface compassion meditations and music.

Bio:

Radhule Weininger, MD, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and teacher of meditation and applied mindfulness practice.  She was the resident teacher of mindfulness practice at the La Casa de Maria Retreat Center for 17 years. Radhule is mentored by Jack Kornfield in her teaching and by Joanna Macy in her interest in Engaged Buddhism. With her husband, Michael Kearney, MD., she founded the non-profit Mindful Heart Programs. She also directs Kind MindSB, a program that provides mindfulness meditation in several Santa Barbara schools. Besides regular weekly meditation groups, she organizes the Solidarity and Compassion townhall meeting. Her book, “Heartwork: The Path of Self-compassion” (with a foreword by Jack Kornfield) was published in 2017.
