This workshop will work on integrating your mind, body and spirit through the techniques of movement, stillness, sound and breath that are the power of the Kundalini Yoga technology. One of the most powerful things about Kundalini Yoga is its ability to take you to an inner place to heal yourself in a way that helps develop your inner physical, mental and emotional strength as well as the inner wisdom of your intuition. In these challenging and fast changing times these techniques are very valuable to tools to help our life experience. Live music with Kent will enhance the experience.
Donna Amrita Davidge has been teaching in New York City since 1985. She currently teaches at Golden Bridge, Open Center and privately in NY Nov-April. Since 1997 she has owned and operated Sewall House Yoga Retreat with her husband Kent in Maine, which has been featured in many publications (Yoga Journal, Travel &Leisure, Shape, Instyle) and chosen top ten by Gayot 2009 and 2010. Kent holds a degree in Music and created the music for their two yoga DVDs, as well as serving as the chef and resident massage therapist at Sewall House. Amrita has taught in many settings at retreats other than her own and around the country and has a devoted following in New York City. She also has written for and been quoted in various publications on yoga.

In this workshop we will practice a slow flow sequence of
hatha yoga integrated with vipassana meditation. Techniques of psycho-spiritual inquiry will be introduced to help us breakthrough delusion and unveil our essential nature.
It is essential to create a practice that allows us
to observe and examine the conditioned patterns,
which have become the foundation we have built
our lives upon. Neuro-scientists are presenting
studies illustrating how contemplative practices
can change our brains and the way we think,
which helps us to clear insight from delusion.

The Yoga Soup Book Club will meet the 2nd Monday of every month from 7-9:30pm. It will include Yin & Restorative Yoga poses that are both introspective and heart-opening. The deceptively simple looking Yin & Restorative poses have a profound effect on the Central Nervous System as well as what is becoming increasingly recognized as the Heart’s nervous system. Through these poses we access a deep sense of well-being and presence, remembering and experiencing our innate divinity and wholeness just as we are in the present moment. The book chosen for each month will be provocative and apropos to enlivening this process.
An offshoot of the book club will be a Women’s Yoga/ Writing/Reading Group to be held 7-9:30pm on the 4th Monday of each month beginning February 27th. The book for February will be The Unknown She, by Hilary Hart.
Deborah Donohue is a Reconnective Healing Practitioner & Therapeutic Yoga Instructor. She is also an editor and widely published writer who has facilitated writing groups as well as lead retreats at Tassajara. For more information contact her at info@DeborahDonohue.org.

Basic brain anatomy will be taught with specific focus on the energetics of each specific bone in the head.
The neuroanatomy of the brain will be presented with discussion regarding how this affects levels of consciousness. This will be a hands on workshop with skulls that can be taken apart and put back together so that the anatomy can be more easily understood. Basic gentle cranial holds will be demonstrated to enhance the students understanding of the movement of the bones of the skull.
Mehta is a dancer, Registered Nurse with over 35 years experience and Martial Arts student. An Advanced Rolfer for the past 15 years, she is also certified in two different forms of craniosacral work, Visionary and Biodynamic. Jae is a PhD candidate at UCLA and currently teaches neuroanatomy there.

Melt into your Heart

All roads eventually lead to our heart. The heart is the place in our being where we truly balance all aspects of our life and nature.
All paths of yoga, healing and spirituality recognize the heart as the place that holds our deepest longings and fulfillment. But the heart remains a mystery because we cannot enter it in the usual way, through the mind. We must enter through the doorway of the heart, which is feeling.
Moving beyond intellectual ideas and concepts, in this workshop, we will dive into our physicality, releasing tension in the neck, shoulders, throat and upper back to experience the infinite depth of our own hearts. All levels welcome. Mostly asana. Equal parts sweat and devotion.
Kelly Heath is recognized for her down-to-earth teaching approach, clear instruction, and for assisting her students in achieving personal breakthroughs on and off the mat. A senior certified Baptiste yoga teacher, 500 ERYT, former studio owner and devoted mama, Kelly's teaches a heart opening vinyasa flow practice, fused with sweat, devotion and community. She blends a wealth of knowledge and yoga experience to create a strong, sweaty and deeply nurturing approach to vinyasa that bridges the gap between ancient yoga wisdom and modern day life.

Cosmic Comic Swami Beyondananda, whose favorite yoga pose is tongue-in-cheek, returns to Santa Barbara on Saturday, February 25th, this time to Yoga Soup. The Swami's comedy has been described both as "comedy disguised as wisdom, and wisdom disguised as comedy." Get ready for an evening of heart-opening laughter, and mind-expanding wisdom, and find out why best-selling author Marianne Williamson has called Swami “the Mark Twain of our generation.”
Not only is the Swami the only guru to channel Elvis and Bullwinkle (and at the same time yet), but he also will take live questions from the audience. If you have an answerable question, the Swami promises to have a questionable answer for you. Bring your friends, because when it comes to laughter, the more the merrier. Get ready to laugh, laugh, laugh till the sacred cows come home.
