Cynthia has been practicing yoga since she was a teenager in Los Angeles where, at that time, most teachers were centralized at Yoga Works in Santa Monica. She studied intensively with several teachers in the Yoga Works tradition, giving her a smooth stepping stone to the more classical traditions of yoga asana. She has studied Yoga Therapy with her mentor Jasmine Lieb, Iyengar with Gabriella Giubillaro in Florence, and Vinyasa Krama with Srivatsa Ramaswami; she has gone deeply into the energetic and bhakti teachings on one end of the spectrum and has studied and even taught anatomy in teacher trainings on the other. Ultimately, her teaching is balanced between the dynamic power of ashtanga and the precision and tailored supportiveness of Yoga Therapy. Above all, Cynthia loves yoga! Every bit of history, philosophy, anatomy, energy, sweat and sound. The joy of the art is weaving it all together.
